i fixed he programme for the second organ (research) and now i am working on the script… pictures are coming soon…

i am working on the basic parameters of the second organ. i am trying to define things like user-characteristics and combinations of different activities and the location / connection of the new organ according to our group-design.

diagrammes and first ideas are published tomorrow.

research as one of the most important parts of scientific life is strongly connected to the daily work of students and staff members. traditionally research takes place in libraries as well as in laboratories.  (in the following i will focuse on the role of the libraries as places for reseach activities)

since the process of digitalising existing data started, libraries as places of storage became obsolete.when you can store the whole encyclopedia britannica on a jumo drice of the size of your thumbbuildings as containers of data are nt longer needed. so instead of gathering data, libraries, or spaces for research in general, have to be able to house a broader range of activities (which of course relate to the topic of research and data access). but since you have access to the data whcih was formerly only available at libraries these institutions have to provide additional qualities.

for me, the activities which take place during the research process are linked to organisation and socialising. the new organ shall provide spaces with different sizes to host varying research activities as well as spaces which relate more to the topic of organising. since we already have a lot of socialising components in our group i will exclude this topic from my design, but will provide special connections to socialising organs.

the skin consists of a pyramid-like component which is mechanically adjustable thus providing different lighting conditions.

i still have to work on the script a little….
